Small Business Saturday Posted On 03 December 2021

Join the celebrations on 4th December

Small Business Saturday UK is grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to 'shop local'. On Small Business Saturday, customers across the U.K. are encouraged to go out and support all types of small businesses, online, in offices and in stores. Many small businesses take part in the day by hosting events and offering discounts. The next Small Business Saturday takes place on December 4th, 2021.

Michelle Ovens CBE, Director of Small Business Saturday UK, commented: "Throughout the crisis we have been reminded of the special role that small firms play in local communities. The stories of this year’s Small Biz 100 really bring this to life. As the UK recovers from the pandemic, small businesses still face considerable challenges to get back on their feet and it’s important we continue to support them'.

Here are 5 ways you can support small businesses:

1. LIKE, COMMENT AND SHARE POSTS

Most small businesses are on social media as it's a great way to get their brand noticed, share products with you and for keeping you up to date with their latest news and behind the scenes action.

2. RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY

One of the best ways to show your support is through word of mouth. Talking about a small business and recommending them to friends and family will help them get new customers.

3. WRITE A POSITIVE REVIEW

Reviews are so helpful for a small business as this shows their brand as a trusted place to buy from, helping others make the decision to purchase their product or service.

4. SIGN UP THE NEWSLETTERS

Newsletters are a great way to stay up to date with business news, new products and information on products or services. Help them grow their email list by signing up and sharing the link to encourage others to do so too.

5. BUY FROM THEM

Of course, nothing will support them more than buying from them. So, whether you have a birthday coming up or you’re getting prepped for Christmas, think 'shop small' and choose a small business to support instead of reaching for giant retailers.
